Bike is 2002 1150GS with 37,000 miles.
I rode to the petrol station the other day. About 4 miles, so engine reasonably warm. Filled up, then went to start the bike. Didn't use any throttle, just pushed the botton (as usual).
There was an almighty bang! Looked down to LHS and saw that the throttle body was hanging in the breeze, presumambly as a result of a 'backfire' (not sure that word applies in this case) through the inlet port.
I replaced the TB and tightened the clips (no, they were not loose before) and the bike started fine and has continued to do so since. There do not seem to be any performance issues so I am assuming it was a freak one-off.
Any ideas what might have caused it?
