Inner Tube ok in Front Tyre?

Never had any luck sealing rim leaks with in-tyre gunk. Tried a couple of times and didn't seal.
I would suggest - Rub down rim. Paint with primer. Rub down again. Repeat till nice and smooth. Then use Ultraseal to be sure.

It might leak for a short while but it has always worked for me...Give it time to work it's way around..sometimes takes a few miles

nickc, your tyre fitter is talking utter utter shit. Many tyre manufactures themselves state that you can use tubes in a tubeless tyre. Its a defacto standard thing to do , and as already pointed out here BMW and other manufactures do it already anyway.

I would go and see your fitter, poke him a nice dig in the eye, and tell him to take some proper training/education in his trade instead of just fuc*ing guessing.

I've also used ordinary tubes for many miles and TT tyres (knobblies) and never had any problems. I've gone back to tubeless as the bike doesn't go off tarmac for the moment and, as GH says, punctures are usually easily repaired and blow outs are much less likely - I did have some tubeless TKCs fitted a few years ago and the front may have lost pressure, although they were worn out before I could really pin it down.

I don't really want to fit ultraseal because it makes such a mess but I also suspected that it wouldn't work for tiny leaks such as these. Taking the tyre off to clean the rim doesn't do the tyre much good so I'll probably just break the bead and do the best I can to smooth the rim. If it doesn't work I'll just live with pumping the tyre up a bit every day or so. I'll have a proper go at it when I have to change the tyre.

That's the whole thing. I might have one lying around from when I turned my f800 gsa into tubeless. JJH

I posted about this before. Silicone spokes where they protrude from rim. Tape round rim I used Denso tape then a few layers of duck tape. Make hole in tape for valve and use the metal valve with threads. Worked on back wheel but not front. JJH
