Anyone heard of, or had, this recall?
My 1250 was in for service in May, they kept it for two days as they struggled to get a recall software update to load, not sure if it was this recall.
Basically, the power is reduced to protect the input shaft from damage.

My June 2023 1250 was in for its big 12k service in June, no mention of it. But maybe mine is a ‘24 model year even though they they stopped production in ‘23. Very confusing.

Probably best to ask on the US forum. Maybe your bikes were different to the euro ones.

Ah right, I didn’t spot the USA bit!
On further investigation it seems it’s just to cut the power when the rear wheel is in the air and throttle open to prevent stress on input shaft when landing.
In hindsight, Google then ask questions, not vice versa!

The UK had one !!

Was this ECU update not done as part of a recall in the UK about 3 years back , same time as they announced free driveshaft replacement at 30,000 miles

I seem to recall it was an issue in first or second gear if the bike took off, so probably only an issue being used hard off road. And I think there was a software update to reduce the throttle in those circumstances. It sounds as though the issue was landing under full or nearly full throttle and the stress of the sudden rear wheel deceleration when it landed with the power on.

Yes, that’s the answer I came up with too.
