Installing Touratech crashbars

I cancelled my order for TT engine bars when they failed to arrive after months of waiting, in December. Guess what? A big box from Touratech arrived this morning!

Now I have a dilemma. Do I send them back or do I fit them after all?

I made the mistake of opening the box. As HMark said, they do look the BIZ! Then again I didn't expect a bill for £200 just now.

Any thoughts.....................................

YIPPEE!!!!! They are on their way. Just checked my bank account and it's been debited by TT for the amount - Gulp!!!! Can't wait to get em' now! :D :D :D :D

H & B ENGINE BARS

After waiting and waiting for.................touratechs eagerly awaited stainless engine bars,i've ditched their order and gone for H & B's ones ordered through Nippy Normans.

These were despatched and delivered in 5 days and are now installed on my GS-just like that!!

May i say that the bars seem fine quality, look the part on the bike, are considerably cheaper-(saving the budget for other goodies)and were a piece of piss to install-

Are touretechs versions REALLY worth the wait!!??

I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but after struggling to fit them and no reply to 2 emails and 2 phone calls I'm close to boxing them up and sending them back :(

Completed fitting them tonight with a couple of adjustments (see other thread if interested)

They look great and I'm well impressed with the quality.

Picking some 2nd hand ones up on Tuesday. I tend to do the 'Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance' thing wherever possible, throw the instructions away and work it out, then you'll really understand it and do a better job, but nice to know there is a plan B just in case. Great write-up and pics. Thanks HMarc.
