Just had a 12000 mile service on my 2012 TB & noticed whilst riding last night the instrument lights weren't working, then about 2 mins later they were back on, pretty much on & off for the duration of the ride, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this & its a case of somethings not plugged in right or is it a case of back to the dealers again, certainly didn't notice this problem before the service.

Obvious and what might seem like a daft question - was it dark at the time? If it's just getting dark, because the instrument lighting is controlled from the photo-sensor on the dash, the lights can go on and off at dusk. Put your finger over the photo-sensor on the dash and they should come on.

My thoughts too

Cheers for that info, feel a bit of an idiot now as obviously i did not know that was the case ! At least you've saved me the embarrassment of looking like a numpty at the dealers, & yes it was dusk at the time.

Don't worry there's plenty of time for pithy and abusive comments to be posted, some will be days later....

What a thick twat eh ?? :D

A light sensor that can't make it's mind up is a crappy design fault that should have been sorted by the software engineers.

Some PVC insulation tape over the light sensor will fix it.
