Instrument dash panel fixing...

I could have sworn I had read that the instrument panel was fixed with just two screws. Just whip them out and someone legs it with your dash. Well, I can reassure you that BMW have thought long and hard about this, as on my year-old bike, it's pop one circlip, disconnect the wiring plug and off you go.

I guess it uses the same mounts - three mushroom-headed pins pushing though rubber grommets, one with a circlip to retain.

Not my idea but easy as this, or you can change that circlip for a snap ring one that needs a pair of snap ring pliers to get off.

But it is possible that the TFT could be software locked to the VIN, and maybe this is a wild guess some kind of BMW code to unlock from the bikes VIN
