Instrument Lights

Since my bike had to be "abandoned" in the snow for a couple of days the light behind the speed works intermittently and the left side of the LCD panel is dark.

I guess a dodgy connection on the bulbs but I cant see how to get at them. Anyone got any ideas?

I always thought that the instruments were illuminated by LED's...
