Called my insurance last night to swap my 2019 SAS over to new 2023 model at end of next week. I currently have a multibike policy with 3 bikes on it. Told I would need to pay an extra £286 on top of the £301 I have already paid! Time to start getting more quotes I reckon.

You're lucky...Comparison site showed me 6000 pounds to insure a 2015 1200R. Called my insurance company and they swapped my new bike for old plus £250 their way. All in £631...

Somewhat pointless comparison as we all have different levels of risk but just renewed my insurance on my new 1290R and the Husky 701 for just over £400 with Cornmarket Insurance (IAM).

As always you need to shop around ;)

Wow, and I was pissed my 1290 Adventure went from £110 to £130 and almost £100 for my Husky 350.

My multi bike renewal with Carole Nash has gone down by £100. However after going on Entire Cover comparison I can get a policy £200 cheaper. Cheapest 2 are with Express Insurance (never heard of them) & MacKenzie Hodgson. Carole Nash quotes on the comparison site were cheaper than my renewal too so I’m going to give them a call before I change insurers.

I spoke to a Carole Nash agent this morning & they can’t match the price they are quoting on the comparison site which is £80 cheaper than their renewal! Exactly the same policy including breakdown & legal, same excesses but renewal price £680, comparison site £601.
MacKenzie Hodgson are cheaper & like for like at £587 so unless anyone has any horror stories about them I’ll be changing.

As far as i am aware, this is now illegal.
all insurance companies are not allowed to offer cheaper cover to new customers and not existing.
its a recent rule change to stop exactly what your quoting.

I think you’re right but seeing as I have cheaper quotes than Carole Nash’s I really can’t be arsed to raise it with them.

I recently added another bike to my Motorcycle Direct Platinum policy. No change in renewal price or excesses, in fact it was cheaper than the £196 I originally took out for the RS! Both bikes covered for £181 total fee. £100 voluntary excess, £175 compulsory. 30 days free European bike cover (excluding breakdown recovery) and full breakdown UK cover included as well as bike clothing damage cover. Might be worth contacting M?C Direct?

Insurance being more on a brand new bike than a 4 year old bike, that’s a disgrace, how dare they.

You deserve a pokey bum wank from them, and a reduction in your premiums just for being you
