So, mine is up for renewal, and having obtained quotes from the others (including what I though was a great quote from Carole Nash), my Quinn renewal notice arrived yesterday - over €50 less than last year. Before haggling starts, here are the figures: 43 y/o, Waterford, 4 yrs NCB, full license (20+ years), 2004 1150GSA garaged, Comp cover:= Carole NAsh €403; Adelaide €477; AON/AXA €501.
Quinn's renewal is €337 including their fee for a monthly payment plan.
CN excess is €325 compared to excess on Quin policy of €250.
I was all set to opt for auntie Carole as I've felt "exposed" for the past year without breakdown cover (even if its not a 1200 that I ride

). But now I see Breakdown cover on my Quinn renewal. Thats good news IMO, as it was a major omisson from their policies.
"BREAKDOWN ASSISTANCE
Policy now includes QUINN-direct Assist Cover. This entitles you to up to 1 hours roadside assistance and if your motorcycle cannot be repaired at the roadside, we will take you to the nearest garage (
nothing about it being a motorcycle specialist....). If your motorcycle cannot be repaired at the scene, we will provide either:
* Transport for you to complete your journey; or
* Ones nights B&B accommodation, while repairs are completed.
Please refer to policy booklet (not supplied until you renew!)"
It goes on to say that this includes Homestart, 24 hour roadside assistance, vehicle recovery as well as journey compeltion.
It would appear to only cover breakdowns in Ireland...
Can someone post the terms and conditions of the Carole Nash breakdown cover???
For the difference (before haggling

) of just €50, I'll probably still go back to them.....
