Yeah but - BMW now includes legal expenses and up to £1000 for kit - I stuck with BMW even though it has risen slightly - but only costs about 50% of what you are paying; but there again I am older and don't live in a dodgy area and keep the bike in a garage :)

Pah...! You risk averse, low premium country folk. My renewal came in nearly £300 more expensive than what I'm paying now. Needless to say, one phonecall later to inform them I would not be renewing, and a few minutes on the meerkat and am looking at £310 FC.

Renewed mine yesterday

I think I am an old git £118 for 2 bikes with Ebike.

My quote from Carole Nash came in at £310.00, rang Devitt and got it for £141.00 FC which was through BMW Mottorad.

37yr old, village in country, on the drive - BMW Insurance £257.

Tried to get it lower but they wouldnt shift on figures....havent hunted around.

BMW Insurance (or Devitt's isnt it ?) were pretty poor when I got my GSA written off last year, as soon as the other guy admitted liability they were on the phone like a flash - "Want a loan bike or car sir ?" - happy to spend other inurance company money but not their own....

Why havent I moved ? The cost of me spending half a day searching isnt worth the saving of £50 to be honest.

I think £257 is good value for a £12k bike to be honest.

I recently paid Bikesure an extra £92 to change from a 160mph Tuono to the GS12 for the last 5 months of the policy. At 48yrs living in the Cotswolds where no-one can even spell 'crime' that seemed a bit steep.

Watch out for the garage clauses; they stink. I pay the extra £20 or so for supposedly keeping it on the drive to avoid having to put it away the second it comes home (no payout if not locked away between certain times with garage clauses). Read your policy in detail. They often offer you an amazing new quote each year that doubles your excess......

£198 FC with claims protection from BMW Motorrad. Covers two bikes plus all the extras I have added to the GSA i.e HID's, Remus, Akra, Sargents, panniers, topbox, Ztechnik screen, Zumo etc which are now part of the policy so no disputes for any claims. 12K miles allowed on the GSA and 3K miles on the K1100RS. I'm happy enough.

Try e-Bike insurance. My GS & Harley fully comp for £132.56 last year. OK I'm pushing 60 and live in the country, but their prices are very keen! :thumb2

Had to pay Carol Nash an extra £110 to change from a zzr1200 to a GS making the total £430 a year. Got a quote last week from BMW and it came back at £255.

Renewal at Carol Nash came in at 288 FC for 09 GS1200. After comparison sites I managed it for £105 through a broker with NIG. Went back to Carol Nash and got them down to £170 with all bells and whistles and decided to stay with them and their reputation, I hope I never have to claim and test the reputation.

It's one of those, 'Mine is smaller than yours' threads.....

Mines getting very small as I get older.

£110 plus IPT.

R1200GS, parked on street. Fully comp, protected NCB. £350 excess. 49, IAM test passed. 5 years NCB.

Underwritten by NIG. Not bad I thought. Auntie Carole - £280. eBike £195.
