Hi all It’s that time again for insurance who’s got the best deal and worth going with.
1300 GSA, 59years old, license 42 years, 6 years no claims bonus, Birmingham postcode, garaged over night and then pleasure only around 5000 miles a year.

Thanks

Moved.

just get on a comparison site
I use Moneysupermarket and then compare on Topcashbackcompare. The latter usually wins.

Your risk factors are different to everyone else. Underwriters amend their risk factors frequently and brokers alter their commission rates even more frequently to balance profit and market share.

The main thing that affects the price is timing apparently. Martin Lewis says the sweet spot is 21-28 days before renewal. Leave it to the last few days and the price goes up.

Get a short list of quotes and then ask for opinions. No point someone recommending an insurer for you to find they have your postcode or bike model on their shit list!

You could have typed that in to a search engine and got a quote.

There’s an entire thread devoted to this most intractable of subjects.

Try Bikesure mate 👍

After some 10 years with Bikesure multi-bike they appear, at least for me, to have become progressively less competitive, to the point now that it's a case of that's the price, take it or go forth, so no longer interested in competing with the market. Some say it's the £20k plus headline cost of many premium bikes (K1600GT-719); others suggest it's the way blocks of risk are traded.

Whatever, https://www.mcncompare.com/ produced a far better deal, with the same underwriter, exceeding the usual comparison sites (TV ad costs?).

One little wrinkle to learn though - if you switch mid-term, the bolt on goodies like legal, PA or clothing & helmet cover may well die with the policy cancellation. In my case they could not continue as a stand alone & were non-refundable. OK It's there in the small print, but I still felt cheated at the time. Sometimes these products get offered as a free or low cost extra when we renew, only to become a permanency as the insurance rolls forward each year. Those of us who take a pillion regularly also need to be aware that bolt on extras often exclude risks to the passenger.

Just had my first renewal from Bikesure ! Went down £100 👍

Based in my recent experience, it seems premiums are still on a downward trajectory so it's definitely worth shopping around. The comparison sites are definitely a good starting place. Mid term admin fees can be nasty though! I put a friend who had just passed her test on my policy for the remaining four months. Premium increase - £4.95. Admin fee - £50.00! :blast

OK, but did you check to see if that was competitive? The fact is most of us a lazy, so don't bother when presented with a price drop.............& auto renewal.
Well put it like this I am almost 75 no priors bike was new now 1 year old and renewal was under £400, yes I did compare nothing on the same planet
