Have a look at TESCO compare.......... I have,nt renewed mine yet got another fortnight but have had two very good quotes at the moment, have been in touch with both companies and the deals seem to have all the benifits of my exsisting company but obviousley cheaper..
could be worth a search on the net...:thumb2

type Ebike into the search....:augie

Did that sounds like they are as good/ bad as them all.

FOr anyones information the best I have claimed of coz someone hit me was Zurich the worst was Norwich Union.

I used Ebike P.A.Y.G... useful as the monthly premium was paltry.. and so very affordable.. the other real plus was that they applied a years NCB every 8 months. Which was very useful too.

Moved over to Carole Nash.. the clincher was her free european rescue included. The premium cost £87 for the first year TPFT.. which when you consider the cost of 'stand-alone' European rescue made it a bargain.

I used the service once when the hall sensor died outside the MOT station (great timing) and the people that turned up were bike specialists... none of your oil covered flat bed nonsense I've had in the past with the RAC. for instance.

So what's important for me is what I get for the money.. and CN wins, this time around.. will have to see what the verdict is come renewal time.. if the premium is the same. or close enough, I see no reason to change.

btw.. the chap who rescued the bike said: bloody hell.. I was expecting a 1200.. we don't see many of these 11's !! (I had a secret smile all the way home)

Hi Ian, I have just signed up with them, and it was through recommendation through Thunder from this site. He does change bikes often and this can be done online with no added cost as with other companies it costs about £25 a time.

I had a money off voucher for them, send me your email address and I will forward it on. I got my insurance for £119 fully comp.

EBike are OK unless you want to make a claim. Like most insurance companies they use a third party 'claims handler'. I tried to make a claim a few years back when I had a new 1200GS (we all make mistakes.....) and they messed me around no end - 'inventing' things that they'd claimed I'd told them that simply weren't true, losing paperwork and generally making an already unpleasant situation even worse. In the end I simply gave up and withdrew the claim (and 15 months later recovered it from the third party through the courts with some help from the police). At the end of the year they sent me a renewal in which I'd lost no claims discount for a claim that was double the value of the one I'd submitted and then withdrawn! After I'd written several increasingly threatening letters and started to involve the insurance ombudsman they eventually wrote to me to confirm my correct no claims entitlement (which I needed to show to Carole Nash who I've been with ever since) but I wouldn't touch them again with a barge pole.

I do accept that my experience may not be typical but it's all I've got to go on. Sure, they're good from a policy administration point of view, particularly if you change bikes a lot, but IMO the proof of an insurer is when it comes to claim time and they fell down big time. Ironically Carale Nash came in only £20 more than the (corrected) EBike renewal cost and of course that included the european breakdown cover that others have mentioned. Not had to use it yet, but good to know it's there. I've just renewed with Carole Nash today for what I consider a good price.

Do Tesco insure or is it Tesco Compare compares. Used it for van insurance and non of the insurers were Tescos. Insurance companies are usually very good until you need the claim:augie
