just got a quote for fully comp with 5 yrs no claims, £148 for the next year

does that seem reasonable???

Depends on your age, location, value of bike, convictions etc.....
If you're happy with the price then that's ok. I got mine for £69 fully comp, protected no claims (9 years).

i used the mcn compare service via their website, it was actually very good to use

my view was - with 5 years no claims, i dont commute on bike, value based on similar sale prices on here (£4 - 5K), roughly 4K miles per year, and kept in a locked garage (and i live in a "safe" area apparently) - anyway, last year i got insurance with hastings for a £1 a day, and the renewal was offered at £266 for this coming year, not good enough

so i thought £148 was pretty good - companies offering £148:

Swinton
Kwikfit eek
Green insurance company
Express Insurance co.

my only gripe is their websites don't always list the exact year of the 1150GSAs, they list 2002 but not upto 2005 etc

any suggestions welcome, thanks

Sorry, it's with Highway Isurance Company through Swinton. Did a search on the comparason sites and came up with that. Cost me more to tax the bleeding thing than insure it!

I'm guessing the location may have something to do with it. I'm out in a tiny village in rural Norfolk. Not a lot happens around here at the best of times. Only two roads here too.

Not in a big city, no points on licence.

You guys seem to be getting a great deal!

went for green insurance company in the end, £159 all in, with NCD protected (extra £10)

there were 3 companies the same, this one, express, and kwik-fit - these all have a £250 compulsory excess

and as i did it through MCN website i got a free copy of a bike mag of my choice and 3 more copies for £3......happy days
