Jesus, that's some depreciation after 12-18 months. 21K new to 13.5 against a new one ?
My R1300 was fully loaded aside from the adaptive ride height, they tried to tempt me into upgrading after less than a year and about 8000miles put on mine.

They offered me £13,500 for mine and when I scoffed at that price they told me they’d struggle to get it back out on the floor for anymore than £16k which judging by other ones online wasn’t a lie.

But mine lost something like £9k in the first year so it won’t be getting swapped out anytime soon lol

I did check another dealer and they gave me a similar trade in offer.

was browsing over winter at my local dealers stock and many used 1300 were sticking for months and months, they've all gone now. Guessing they priced a px up low based on it being sat there for months and assuming that they had the crown jewels to sell, still seems a scandalous offer though.

Do you handle your own no fault claims or pass on your customers to a third party company?
That will be my question when I come to re new my insurance next year and it won’t be with Hastings.

Why do we pay ever increasing premiums, I’ve just found out after my no fault accident.

The no fault claim handlers charges:

£388.69 daily hire charge for a replacement bike.
£450 to deliver it to you and the same to return.
£354 to recover your bike to their premises, same to get it back.
£43.20 a day to store it whilst the claim/repair is processed.
You have to sign an agreement making you liable for the above if the fault parties insurance won’t pay out.
There is no incentive whatsoever for them to sort out your claim quickly.
I didn’t get far enough to discover what sort of ridiculous price they may have come up with for its repair as I’ve cancelled the agreement within the 14 day period.

When looking into insurance check if they use a no fault claims handler who’s only business model is storage and bike hire charges.
This is why we are paying more and more.
I can’t imagine how much that would tot up to but the bike was assessed by Marshall BMW as needing £1900 to sort it.

Try Hastings insurance I found them great to deal with and this year's quote actually went down which must be a first for most of us at renual time.
Try dealing with them regarding a claim, you’ll be told they don’t do motorcycle insurance, only cars and vans. Then they’ll pass you on to 4th Dimension, their parter company that handles the motorcycle side.
I for one will never ever use Hastings again.

Had same issue , ended up with bikesure

That’s scary

I pay £200p.a. to insure my 1200GSA 2014
I accept that this is not a £26k 1300GSA, and the latter would cost me £1,200p.a.to insure.
( I asked for a quote after giving them a reg.no.)
Then factor in the annual depreciation.
That takes a big shine off my desire to upgrade.

Location is Barnoldswick in Lancashire
Cheapest quote so far £1100 with a £1k excess, garaged and security
Carole Nash want £1500
Renewal on 1250 GSA with Bennett’s just under £400

It makes no sense Lexham with my then insurance company would not touch me on a 1300 gsa and the one that did was 3k odd , 60 with 5 years ncd but in surrey
