so i have replaced my midland radio with an intaride 803 with a remote aerial.got the appropriate pttlead for my autocom from intaride and fitted it all.prob is that no voices are heard using the ptt,the radio indicates that it is transmiting and the receiving radio clicks when ptt is pressed.if i remove the ptt lead from the intaride and use the button on the side to transmit it all works, confused i am,any body have any ideas?.

I don't know the ptt lead that you speak of but if the connecting plug into the autocom system is one of those with the tiny four pins then check that you haven't bent a pin when connecting up, it is easy to do if you don't get them lined up correctly. If one is bent then you can normally straighten it using a very small screwdriver. Always make sure the arrows on the female and male connectors are lined up before snapping them shut. I marked my connectors with a dab of white tippex as this makes it easier to line up in poor light conditions. If you have the large single plug connectors then make sure you have pushed them right in - you should get a distinct "pop" as it is pushed fully home, if you don't then you will see a gap of about 1mm between the connectors which means the transmit connection is not lined up. If all looks as it should then give Intaride a call tomorrow, they are really helpful and will sort it out for you.

thanks, the push to talk lead is the one that plugs into the rhs of the radio under the rubber grommet with the two prongs, everything lines up etc i ge a feeling that there is something in one of the menus which isnt right.

not yet its really frustrating me now, tried to ring intaride but their phone system is down, emailed and had a short reply, can only think its a faulty lead for the ptt from intaride as it will work with the lead removed.

faulty patch lead from the autocom to the radio just received a replacement from intaride and all works ok now:thumb2
