Interesting… a 1390? Adventure teaser

I like a TFT, but feel they are heading the same way as video games.
When I say that I mean too life like and distanced from what they are supposed to be.
Just WTF has happened to motorcycling when a big fuck off telly is the star of the show?

Be interested in the 1390gt when it arrives. Fancy screen not needed, just make the bike reliable!

Would like them to put a nice analogue speedo on the damn thing, a key to start it, some twidlers to adjust the suspension, leave hill starts to the riders clutch control, rip the Darth Vadar helmet off the front (along with all the associated electronics) and then take £5k off the price....

...Now where do I sign?

Portrait is the current trend ( T700 , Desert X, KTM , all the youfs on their mobile phones using Google maps etc )

This screen is making BMW look dated and behind the game.

Hold on. BMW still haven’t incorporated backlit switchgear which the likes of KTM have had for many years .

I think sir is looking for an 1190.

and a lot more than £5K cheaper.

I’d sooner have a Darth Vadar helmet instead of a candle like light output, surrounded by anal beads.

Still, 1190, unless it is an R model 21/18” wheels it’ll have electronic suspenders.

Mine is an R. Purposely bought after experienceing the inadequacies of the electronic version.

The lights can easily be upgraded, but I've not bothered. I just slow down a bit until I can see :D

Had the tiny little TFT replaced on my 890 ADV R under warranty due to condensation on the inside.
They tried to wriggle out saying it wouldn't get any worse -.I pointed out it controls the whole bike so not happy to take the risk.

It was replaced and they did mutter that next time it would cost me a grand.

So if a little 5" piece of tat with 1982 Atari graphics is a grand a pop, how much would these cost?

Miss my 1190, still had it for about 10 months after buying the 1290 and when going for a local ride out would always take the 1190, the 1290 handles better, has even more torque and most importantly cruise control - the only thing the 1190 lacked for me.

Had just put my 1290 up for sale on here with a view to maybe buying a low mileage 23/24 model, but with the "KTM is going bust" news it could be a hard sell, in which case I would just keep it, the thing handles well (for such a huge machine) and is fast and comfy, and all my 1X90's have been pretty reliable (@50,000 miles on the 3 of them with just 2 fuel sensors and a couple of suspension code resets.

I suspect CF Moto will swoop in and buy them up cheap for the branding / badge - but wonder if they will stop the big bikes, like when the Chinese bought Benelli and stopped making the beautiful triples and whacked the badges on crappy little bikes :-(

TBH I think CF Moto's aspirations are quite high with the MotoGP presence.
