Hi All,

I have a Autocom Super Pro AVi Duo and a Zumo 660 ..

Just come back from a camping break and have a few issues with the setup.

The Zumo 660 is wired into the bike accessory socket under the beak and the autocom is under my seat wired to the accessory socket there.

I have an isolated music lead Part 1314 connected from the zumo to the autocom but I still get a lot of interference. Noise increases/decreases with the engine revs. I thought the part 1314 should have stopped this ?

When I disconnect the Zumo from the autocom the wife and I can chat happily without the noise.

Anybody got any ideas how I stop the interference ?

The other issue we had was the wind kept activating the Vox .. It got so annoying that I eventually disconnected the whole thing !! I guess this is just a case of adjusting the vox sensitvity level ?

Cheers
Steve

Earth loops

Hi Steve,
It sounds like you are getting a nice earth loop from powering the Zumo at the front, and your Autocom from the rear.

As a quick fix try powering the Zumo from the same socket as the Autocom, failing that go onto eBay and get a ground loop isolator (about a fiver) with the appropraite ends (3.5mm jack plug/socket)

Thanks Neil, But I assume the autocom part I have (1314 ) is an isolater for exactly that purpose ? I did a search for the isolaters on ebay and the only suppliers I could find were in the US ?

Cheers
