I have just returned from a test ride using the Interphone bike to bike set. I bought this set at the NEC after having looked at the various expensive/complex systems that were on offer. I wanted something that was reasonbly priced and simple to set up.
We tested the system upto & over 70mph, it gave good clear reception for us both and upto 300metres distance often without line of sight, that we were warned about. We tested it with and without ear plugs and it functioned well and with a simple button adjusted the volume to suit this and different roads.
For the money, it appears to be what the Dr ordered. I also plumbed it into the tomtom rider2 and my phone. This is where the other systems justify the extra expense, with it in bike to bike mode, no sat nav or phone comms but with a single button access to tomtom and phone are resumned.
I have used the bluetooth headset with satnav and phone and it performs better than the scala headset provided by tomtom. and without the worry of water getting on the contacts on the scala.
I know the sytem has its limitations but for two wanting simple bike to bike comms it appears to be an good option, plus the benefit of simple phone comms while on the move.
