i think you are best to do it clockwise. that way if you get any sunit will be on your back for the tricky bits. others may have different opinions.
I'd suggest anti-clockwise as the scenery then builds and builds. Otherwise after JoG it could be a let down after the delights of the west coast.
Anti clockwise is the way I’m heading, saving the best till last (so I’m told)

Is exactly right. In fact, I would just go straight up to Tongue and turn left. The NE corner doesnt have much going for it, but I guess the box needs ticking....
I was in Aviemore last March.
Lots of blue skies and frosty nights, the roads were dry and salted.
On Wednesday from Cairnryan via Glasgow to Aviemore saw about 5 bikes, a couple more the next few days, the weekend was totally different with Campervans, bikes and cars.
The mountain tops had snow, but even the ski runs were patchy.

You can leave it at my place near Forres, very private and secluded location loads of parking space and nowhere near a main road.
