I've just done the latest map update on my 550.

Had a ride up in the Yorkshire Dales and found a number of roads we were on, like Pateley Bridge to Grassington, which is a B road, not showing on the map:(. The cursor showed me in empty green space, no matter what magnification I used, but the banner on screen correctly identified the road???

Did you fix the problem? I'm debating whether to lash out and upgrade the maps in my 550 but I won't bother if minor roads aren't visible.

I have the latest upgrade on my (four year old) 550, and all the roads are visible, map detail set to 'Most'.

Don't know yet, I'm planning to go out at the weekend, although not to the same area. I'm not sure what 'most' refers to quite honestly. :nenau

A friend of mine has just asked me the exact same question!

He's just updated his 550 and lost all the roads, I've asked him to perform the same change and I'll report back the result.

I too have lost all the minor roads after updating maps to latest Europe NT 2011.40. I have screen set to Most under map detail but no difference. Anyone get a solution to their missing roads?

Cheers

soloution to invisible roads

The solution to my problem is..........

Check that the maps you are downloading include the UK! Just because it say Europe does not mean it includes good old Blighty! The UK can still be present for major roads but full coverage is not included unless the correct map group is selected.

The Garmin download page includes a map showing the areas you are selecting.

Oh, one other pointer, dont download anything late at night, wait until you are fully awake.

Hope this helps someone else to avoid my error

All is well now
