SWMBO has purchased an Ipad today.
How can I build a seperate account on the lappy? It seems to have latched on to my account for my iPhone? She aint gonna want all my songs and porn synched on her Ipad
Anyone managed to do this yet? its a Vista machine......

Each device has separate rules for sync. Won't be an issue unless you want to hide the porn. Just setup what you want from the whole set to be synced to each device.

In the porn case you'll need separate user accounts and iTunes databases...

You have to sign out of iTunes each time you go in it, and create two different accounts if your stuff comes from iTunes.
For different libraries, I've gone down the route of two separate login accounts on the laptop, one for me and one for the wife. That allows for different selections between the two different iPods (and my iPhone as a third item).
iTunes is really not very well designed for more than one device.

simpler way is to create different folders in itunes for the different devices to sync to. itunes will recognise which device is plugged in, and sync to the correct file/files :)

no need for separate accounts, logging in/out etc.

i have 2 ipods, and 2 iphones synced on one computer. all contain different selections from the same library. i plug one in, press sync, and that's it.

try this

1. Click Start and click Control Panel.
2. Click User Accounts and Family Safety.
3. Under User Accounts, click Add or remove user accounts.
4. Click Create a new account.
5. Type in the account name. Select the account type: Standard or Administrator.
6. Click Create Account.
7. Select the account you just created. Click Create a password.
8. Type in a password for the user account and an option password hint.
9. Click Create password.

Done
