Getting one for Christmas and wondered if I download my usual anti-virus / firewall please. Any tips on getting started will help my numpty brain.
Cheers

I'm not sure what the question is - if security is required on the iPad or whether configuration changes are necessary to another machine in order to allow the iPad to function in the existing environment.

Please clarify.

none of my apple products run an antivirus or internet security (Macbook Pro, iMac or my itouch/ipods, as they aren't as vulnerable to the same issues as windows based products.

I was worried about on line security when on the web and I've been told I can access on line banking.
Thanks

Just like windows, you will use a web browser which will handle the secure connection. Apple has their own, Safari. This uses the same secure protocols as other web browsers like Firefox & Internet Explorer
http://www.apple.com/safari/what-is.html#security - anti-spyware etc is included in the product.

Most banks will support Safari. Some don't e.g. Egg customers can log on to see their Egg accounts but Egg Money Manager, which lets you see accounts at other banks, only runs with Internet Explorer.

Brilliant, job sorted. My bank does support Safari
Thanks all
