bollocks to that. mine's covered on my house contents. cost: zilch.

ps. back on topic. yes, the iphone is really good, speshly if you have a mac. if you don't, it might impress you enough to buy one :)

I've currently got a blackberry bolt on with 02 so data is free.

I've just this afternoon bought a macbook as I am fed up with my laptop locking up and I bought a imac g5 s/h for my wife which I have been so impressed with I decidie to make the change.

Immigrant - a work colleague has got one of the new sans trackball blackberrys. He is on the second one in 3 weeks - it keeps crashing. This is another reason for wanting to try the iphone the recen blackberries I have had have not been as good as the first ones that came out. We did this with Nokia too - 5 years ago I would have had nothing but Nokia and then had 2 N73's which were the worst 'phones ever so I moved to Blackberries.

Im going to look for a s/h iphone on ebay I think and give it a got. After that at the end of the year when my contract runs out see if I can blag some free ones from 02 given my companies level of spend with them!

for one, you can sort out privacy issues (your phone sends user data about you to Apple providers), you could if you wanted, use any network SIM in the phone, I've altered the look and feel of the phone, free Apps, talking at a command line level is useful too so I now use Pirate Bay for torrents on the phone and so much more, I've only started playing with it really, so much more to discover, they're powerful bits of kit.....:thumb
 
Word of warning

Just to give you a quick warning, Apple are really hot on the Iphone when they get damp. I used to keep my phone in a pocket that was only splahproof, and when the mute button fell off, the almost refused to replace the handset because the paper showed that it had been wet/damp/moist.

I argued the fact that it wouldn't cause a button to fall off, and they eventually replaced it. But, if you were to complain about anything electrical, then it isn't covered.

If you buy second hand, check the paper on by the power/synch socket, as I reckon this is a major reason why people are selling these second hand.

But, I do love my iphone...
 
-battery is dissapointing. i never get a full days use out of an overnight charge.
( my last 5 mobile phones batteries lasted days&days on an overnight charge ).

the sound quality ( during a call ) is no better than my phone 5 years ago.

other than that - i like it.

just added personal posessions to household insurance,covers all families phones/cameras etc. 3 i phones included! £60 for year all in.

down load the photbucket app

when you get a picture up, down in the bottom right hand corner of the screen is a circled i press that and then double tap the image code to copy,

then go back to the browser where your replying to a post and double tap to paste:thumb2
 
I have both the BB (work) and the iphone (personal). The BB is good for email and that's about it - the iphone is better at everything else. Apart from being a phone that is. Its actually quite a crap phone, as in talking to people, but who does that anyway?

I've had the iphone in my pocket without a cover for the last 18months. No scratches on the screen or anything - they're actually quite robust as phones go. Fek the £12/month insurance as well. Most contents insurance covers the phone against accidental damage, although some require a small additional premium. The only downside is, they won't insure you against them going faulty and you're locked into an 18 month contract, with only a 12month warranty. But I guess if they go faulty, you just throw the fekker on the floor..........or even better, damage it on a "business trip" :)

Thanks guys,

I ended up getting a s/h iphone and have had the first day using it. Setting it up last night was a pain - the Blackberry is a lot easier to set email up.

Working with it today was great - ran the battery out though. Are they replaceable?

Macbook has also arrived. OOOHHHHH!!!! so much better than a PC. Sold!!!
