Ireland 🇮🇪 calling

Now, where were we?

Still in Beara and today we visited Killarney lakes, Molls Gap and Gap of Dunloe areas

Whiddy Island - just before Glengarriff

USAF base there in WW1 1917-18 where they flew seaplanes to disrupt German U boats attacking the supplies convoys

Now a deep water oil terminal

Gap of Dunloe was full of promise - but turned out to be a theme park for American tourists
Sadly it was a nightmare
Horses and carts on a single track mountain road make for frustration
Walkers (wankers) from USA wandering all over the road and also on hired electric bikes
Recipe = a shite ride in some spectacular countryside
No pictures taken 🤔😡
So, once into Killarney we headed out again via the lakes, past Ladies View where we stopped for a coffee and back over to Kenmare to take the road alongside Kenmare sound

We cut over Healy Pass and that was amazing - a truly stunning road with little to no traffic on it - as worthy as some of the Alpine passes

Pleased you enjoyed Healy Pass JB. I'll definitely be doing it again if I go back that way, you certainly got better weather than Phil and I.
Regarding The Gap of Dunloe our Kenmare landlady said to do it after 16:00 hrs.when the pony and carts and tourists have all gone back to Killarney.
