Ireland 🇮🇪 calling

Looks different at that speed :D

Great write up JB. Looks like you had a great trip
If I’d known you’d be around Moll’s I’d have given you a few boreens to try…
I did see a few interesting tracks on my map (dotted line to the east of Molls)

You were the catalyst for a great week and looking forward to 2027 now

Cheers for the quick spin on your R12 G/S - much appreciated

Well, that’s it for this 2026 Irish trip

1675 miles over the 8 days, door to door

Lucky with the weather too

Met some great friends & folks at Leenane again and 2 new faces Old Rat and Ex Call Centre Chimp

Everywhere we went the Irish were so hospitable and friendly - we had a great place in Castletownbere for 3 days

Old 1150 GSA (only 1150 at Leenane) performed fine & went well - however it is a slow slug compared to Mark’s 1390 SAS Evo Auto which is a rocket ship (he let me do 20-25 miles on it and it’s truly stunning)

Just shows how bikes have altered in 25 years

Here’s to the next time 🇮🇪👍

Great illustrated write-up 👍👍
Thanks

The bike that did a great job, with no complaints and hiccups

Comfy

Handled well

Reliable

Whisked me along safely, in some atrocious weather cloudbursts

Took too much clobber and crap ….as usual (must pare it down)

Used 300ml of oil over the 1675 miles

Just goes to show you can tour on any bike and a £3000 one is just as good

On the Dublin ferry yesterday, it was the oldest bike at 21 years old

1150’s still can do it in an unsophisticated way - no ABS or traction/modes
