Hi Folks,

May Trip. North Lincs to Killarney via Scottish Borders.

I’m looking for some nice biker accommodation somewhere mid-way between Donegal and Killarney, probably around or in Galway.
Any recommendations please?

Leenane Hotel in Leenane Connemara
Spot on

Moved to accommodation.

You’ll get the hang of the lovely new layout, no doubt.

This one JB?

A guy gave me this card last year and suggested the same

That’s the one
Great food
Comfy and well appointed rooms
Good Guinness
Always busy
A view of the Fjord to die for and a quick stroll to the village for decent coffee shops, craft centre, shop, bakery and a pub

Thanks folks, I’ve now booked the Leenane.

From the Leenane I’ll join the Irish BMW meet-up weekend at Castlerosse on the Ring of Kerry.

From Kerry I’ll begin heading homeward to North Lincs, I’m wondering whether to head along the south coast and catch the ferry from Rosslare to Goodwick-Fishguard, or Dublin to Holyhead.

I’ve used the Dublin ferry before but know nothing of the Rosslare/Fishguard trip.

Any recommendations would be appreciated

1. Don't go with P&O, the sooner those twats go out of business the better.
2. If you go with Stena pre book the quiet lounge, it makes for a far more pleasant trip.
3. I pre-booked a meal deal on the ferry. It meant I could go straight from home to the port and straight from the port to my destination afterwards without the need for stopping. It also meant that if I got delayed arriving at my destination I had already had a decent meal. It was pretty nice and relatively good value as well.

may i suggest Rosslare ferry.

Killarney / Healy Pass / Priests Leap - lovely roads.

when you get to Dungarvan take the coast road to Tramore ( Copper Coast ).

wish you a great trip

Much appreciated Deise, and others, so you reckon the Rosslare to Fishguard is okay :thumb2

Is the run from Kerry to Rosslare a comfortable one day ride?

Do you know of any decent biker accommodation in Rosslare?

Kerry to Rosslare is very do-able in a day, depending on the route you take ie direct national roads or the road less travelled. You'll do the direct option easily in three and a half or four hours.

We don't have "biker" accommodation over here Batman, just accommodation. Simply book your hotel or B&B and you'll be made welcome.

No ‘biker’ accommodation? That is very worrying! Is it safe? Is it friendly? Will they speak English? Will they do frites?

Cheers Dei,

That’s great thanks, perhaps I should have dropped the ‘biker’ and said recommended accommodation.

I’ve always found the Irish very welcoming.

I don’t get this tribal obsession with ‘biker’ friendly cafes or accommodation?

I just go to a place and like the look of and it doesn’t matter if I arrive on the bike or in the car/van

Strange tribal customs, aren’t they

I suppose......the main "biker friendly" requirement would be suitable parking for the bikes (safe parking)

I would imagine that is what is being enquired about....when that question is asked.

No need to go on the Nark lads.

S20 5G sent this......

I guess so
But I ask them direct or take a chain

Whilst I agree that the south coast run to Rosslare is worth doing, the slog back from Fishguard to yours is pretty dull. Having done much of this (three times!) perhaps going back up to Dublin would overall be less of a drag and a more enjoyable ending?
