Is £7500 too much?

By the look of the aluminium, the bikes been left for a long time to corrode. though I recon all the paintwork has been redone.. The ally on my 83 is in far better nick, in fact Bertha with nearly 100000 miles on the clock has better ally. Nice bike but not exceptional I think.
One thing has surprised me though..... None of you tossers have asked who the f.... is this member of the aristocracy, Has anyone ever heard of him?

I thought for a minute that bike was my old one. Similar mileage and the same sort of condition when I sold it. Mine was owned by a local multimillionaire and was one of 25 bikes he owned. It's been sitting unused in a garage in Derby since I sold it.

i would consider offers over 6000 for mine
perhaps the owner has spent thousands on restore and hoping to get it back?

At the risk of getting a bit anal - This is the 81 BMW brochure. The 81 had completely different stickers
The bent brake rods a nice touch on a £7500 bike

my panels came with the stickers on and a 1985 date satmp.

so all in all this is not a museum model 1981
because it is not concours or have the correct equipment on.

and rob the brakerod could have been fitted by the mechanic at the rebuild
this included new oils, seals, rubbers, swing arm pivot bearings, plugs, fuel pipes, fuel gauzes, air filter, front brake pads, front brake piston, rear brake shoes, rear brake push rods and exhaust downpipes
it mentions the bike has done 50 miles since then.

At £7500 shouldn't / wouldn't you expect near enough 99.999% perfection?
For £7500 I'd expect Gaston Rahier wheeling it down the high street. That bikes got to be £2.5k to £3k tops. It's a few shiney bits bolted to a so so clean up. The VIN plates missing as well.
I agree with Rob, It's a crap example in my eyes, totally wrong for the year, nothing would hold provenance except Gaston signed tank, which probably came off a genuine PD in '85 I'd value it at around £2 - £2.5 K tops .
Kenny and the Bike Thunder just bought today are miles better.
Also if I want to be a complete anorak first 80 g/s did not have side stand [ unless crashbars were ordered and fitted from factory]and had a pannier only on one side, [swing arm]
