I received my V8 upgrade yesterday. The problem is that is that it's a DVD not CD and as my computer can't read DVDs I'm stuffed. The upgrade to V7 must have been on CD as I loaded them with no problems on the same computer.

So, does anyone know if V8 is available on CD before I pester Garmin.

I'll be interested to know this as well.

I have loaded the V8 DVD onto the laptop and the home PC, but my work PC will not read DVD's :spitfire

If it was, I wonder if you would need another unlock code?

just a thought...

there's probably somewhere selling them even cheaper somewhere.

I’m sure Garmin held off going the DVD route as long as they could, people (including me) were grumbling about the number of discs needed to do an upgrade via CD. It cost me £50 to buy an external pcmcia DVD drive for the laptop, but I’m not going to complain, it was the easiest Garmin update I’ve installed in years!

DVD only.
So it would seem that either some computer jiggery pokery is needed - a colleague at work reckons he could copy the DVD onto CD, but is life ever that simple? or I have to bring forward my plans to buy a laptop with DVD reader - and install the lot on that instead.
