Decided to get the r850r back on the road after two years in the shed. Fuel lines were perished so I replaced them with new pipe ( tnx essjay!!!! )

I attached the pumps incorrectly... Found out... Swapped pipes and she started up ok after a bit of persuasion.

I left her running for a minute or two while putting on my gear and she just suddenly stopped. No pump prime.... Fuse fine.

Did I kill the fuel pump and if so, is there a cheaper option to the BMW pump?

Thanks!

Before splashing out on new pump etc.
If it has the same type electrical connectors by the rear rhs tank mounting as the 1150's then check the wiring for continuity through this area. the connectors can relax due to disconnecting.
Check the relays under your seat. If your horn is working, then replace the fuel pump relay with the horn one and see if it starts - I think it is the same part.
Then the side stand switch can become faulty.

I have had these issues over the years and each fault stopped the pump from working.
