My GSA is being collected tomorrow and I'll be bikeless with a fist full of Dollars ....... I'm pretty much sold on the Idea on a 990 ADV.

Anyone done the same thing??

Any advice?

Having just sold my 1200GSA I'm in the same position. I rode the latest 990Adv but stories of poor dealer experience put me off.

The only stories you hear about KTM Centre in Hemel Hempstead are good ones. Theyre nice and close to you.

That said, its a pretty easy bike to maintain yourself.

Me

then back, then again and again... after 18 gs`s and about 5 ktm 990`s i still cant make my mind up which bike is best.

KTM.. much more fun to ride for half a day.

BMW.. nice for the whole day.

you will probably buy the KTM, love it, but within a year you might be back on a GS.

Well I've put a deposit on a low mileage minter which I'll be collecting next Sunday followed by a 180 mile ride home, Should be just about enough of a ride to see how I feel about it

you will grin like a cheshire cat they are bonkers:thumb

just start saving for the 4.5k service intevals

price you pay to feel like you.ve been fired out of a cannon:D:D:D:D

Maybe foolislhy maybe not but I've decided to buy one without having ridden one, I'm wanting my first ride to be a surprise one way or another!

From those who are in the know, Are they that much 'brisker' than a 12GSA?

YES:D:D a freind who has a 12 says he hated the way i used to just dissapear into the distance when giving it the beans:D

its not like a boxer, the boxer flatters and will pull from absolutely nothing, the ktm loves to be revved its a thoroughbred enjoy:thumb2

I've deliberately bought one out of warranty so it shouldn't be going back to a dealer.

full service intervals are a must as the valve clearances like to be spot on.

get yourself a G2 throttle cam to smooth the throttle responce

and get some ackras for it,sod the fuel consumption,,, feel the thunder:thumb2

I'll give a thousand miles or so and think about mods, As much as I like the idea of Akro's I'd be sick of them after half an hour, besides, My neighbours don't hate me ...... yet ......
