Is the LC cooling system pressurised ?

When I had to set my bike over on its side, I lost some coolant from the expansion tank as the cap hadn't been put in at the factory. Got it topped up again but think it might have some air at the top of the radiator. If I take the radiator cap off to have a look am I likely to create a problem eg if it's pressurised?

Ensure engine is cool, and slacken cap slowly.

It's pressurised with the heat, to elevate the boiling temp.

Hmm you could be wrong, I currently run waterless coolant and that doesn't pressurize as its boiling point is 180, and I assume the lc is running waterless coolant as such shouldn't pressurize.

There is no warning in the manual about removing the expansion tank cap when the engine is still not, so you could be right.

Stupid comments that might get someone scalded! The majority of combustion engine systems are water based - additives stop corrosion amongst other things & can raise boiling point. The LC IS water based coolant so do not remove the radiator cap when hot unless you fancy a trop to casualty. If you are not fully conversant with the technology / not an engineering type, please do not encourage others to cross over their competence threshold - someone will get hurt at some point

It can still be be pressurised - even if not water-based.

Yes the LC has a radiator cap - take the time to research before shooting from your hip!
Take the O/S winglet off (2x torx inside / 2x torx outside) lift the winglet off to reveal the O/S (off side) radiator. Lo & behold - the silver cap you are looking at is a radiator cap!!! I think you are misunderstanding the difference between the pressurised side of the system & the expansion tank ( black cap)
If you don't know / understand - probably best to shut the F**K up in future

You are obviously a total idiot - the manual says top up via the expansion tank cap - have you read the manual? I repeat there are no warnings in the manual - as usual someone with a little knowledge and even less intelligence trying to shout down others because they assume they know best -try reading the manual, muppet!
