Fella`s - don`t know if my p*sser is being pulled - but is there any truth in the BMW GPS obscuring the clocks?

Perhaps when viewed by a tall fella or a shorter chappie?

I ask because I`ve been approached to make a bracket but not having a BMW GPS I don`t know :nenau

Thought some of us might know..................

Fanks :bounce1

Aye the bottom of a Nav IV and probably a Nav V does obscure the top of the rev counter a bit, especially if you have the GPS bracket turned down a bit so that the screen on the unit doesn't catch too much of the sun.

It does obscure some of the rev counter but , by slacking off the cables, can be repositioned to the left . It can be tilted but that let's the sun ( the thing in the sky now and again ) reflect on the Satnav.

Would there be demand for a bracket......tough call ....... but seeing some of the stuff on sale for the GS diehards then somebody will buy one!

I am 6' 2" and have the seat set on "high". Never been an issue for me tbh

I have the GPS and use all the time. To be perfect it needs to be 5 to 10 mm higher IMO. I am now used to the location however it would not surprise me if the setup is modified in future BMW models. I am also told the 2015 Gs will have more HP ??

More of an issue if you use an old fashioned Zumo 550 - using this solved the problem for me :)

I'm a short arse with standard seat in low position. The sat-nav bracket as supplied is positioned centrally on the supporting arch which for me sticks the sat-nav right over the top left half of the tacho.

I eased the cables through their zip ties, losened the mounting bracket and shoved it about an inch to the left - voila, problem solved!

well done fella - lets hope it helps the other gezzers who might be `vertically challenged` (certainly no offence intended!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Mark,

I didn't get the bracket fitted to my TE, it's sat in a bag in the garage.

I'll get the navi in the next couple of months but you're welcome to borrow the bracket for measurements etc if you need it.

Hammy - any chance of you helping me to make one? If it works you can have it with my compliments as a thank you for your help?

Yeah no problem. I'm awY from home for another week though. I could maybe take a picture first so you can see what it's like
