I am a US rider that loves riding the mountains of West Virginia and backroads of Maryland in my GS2014. This bike is fantastic every time I ride it, including some commuting through dense traffic in Washinton DC. Now close to 20k miles I have had some frustrations with issues that were solved under warranty. To be honest, after many bikes I have had, this GS has provided me with so much fun under different scenarios including heavy loaded, under the rain, gravel roads, mountain switxhbacks, snaking through traffic, etc, that I think it is definetely a keeper. Despite the issues (fuel pump, battery, throttle cable) I will keep this bike when warranty expires and I had to pay for the repairs because it makes me happy. What is life for?

Awesome. I am jealous that you get to ride the mountains of West Virginia. I stayed in Shenandoah once, beautiful place.

Yes - my 2014LC has 21k - I've had 3 windscreens, swingarm and other bits and bobs but it's taken me from Scotland to the Arctic, the Balkans and Russia. It's a thrill to ride, on road, on tracks in Scotland, solo, pillion and fully loaded - it does it all ❤️
I couldn't let her go, so I'll just add to the garage

Well. The repair order from Bob's BMW says "Repair cable for throttle TW". I was told they replaced it because the bike repeatedly adopted "limp mode" with little power because the computer interpreted something wrong with the throttle cable. It is faultless at the moment. I lost confidence for a while since BoB's technicians took a while to figure out what was wrong and they needed to replicate the issue to diagnose, which took a bit. I have put like 3k miles on the bike for the last couple of months and I have regained confidence. Thanks for the comments, it is so informative and nice to read your threads on this side of the pond. Ride safe !.

There is a power cable from the throttle which can have a habit of pulling loose on the block connector which causes the bike to go into limp mode.
I undid the cable ties which hold the cable in place and managed to gain about 1/2" more slack upto the block, never had any more trouble
