Fantastic photo's> For an old fart like me who will never see these places up close, this is excellent stuff to relax and drink a glass of OJ too. Without putting in 1000+miles of stress and effort by myself.
Keep the images coming and enjoy that amazing trip.

Dunno why you need to pigeon hole everything . It’s a very British trait needing to fit into a perceived group and conforming . The French and Spanish don’t seem to have such hang ups and enjoy and embrace all forms of two wheel transport .
I toyed with bringing my Vstrom 800 on this trip but didn’t have the miles done for first service and always planned to bring the X-ADV . So pleased I did as it’s perfect for these roads . Obviously that’s my opinion and you’d be looking in every shop window to see how stupid you thought you looked .

On a different theme , I’m surprised how many 1300GSAs we’ve seen today , and often in the middle of the road around a corner . FFS 🤦‍♂️

I am enjoying it, nice to see some landmarks renovated, good to see the poof chariot as well. :D I was actually quite taken by it, so much so I went to Honda Moto PT....They don`t sell it here! I think they are missing a trick there.

As for the sarcy comments, the bell ends and the terminally confused.....My pocket of fucks is barren, people are very strange, it is what makes life interesting and proffers the opportunity to punch some on the nose, they usually bottle out though, as many don`t like pain. :D
 
Aside all the banter and bitching I do question if our resident Captain actually gets back handers from Honda…🤣🤣🤣

Aside the trip report I for one… and I think a few others now….will be booking a test ride on the XADV😁😁😁

Bonus this month so bought a new car for the Missus and might then be able to use that as leverage for a new XADV.

Just got back from spending a few days with the Captin, Rob and Stevie, done about 4-5 trips with him and as always had a fab time, takes away all the stress in planning a trip, finding the best roads, accomodation, plus its a great laugh alone the way, its appreciated.....cheers!

Having already seen the ADVantages of the the X-ADV 750 and bought one, I’m following this thread with mucho interest. Seeing and hearing about its touring abilities are exactly what I want, this is real world testing, by someone who, whether you love him or not, knows what he is talking about, not some you-tuber with limited knowledge and experience borrowing one from Dobles for an hour then telling us why we should/shouldn’t buy one.
Taking pictures of bikes in a scenic setting, while on a biking holiday, then putting them on a biking forum, is the norm.
Well done sir, keep the pics and reports coming, they are appreciated by most on here.👍🏻

My 2p for what it’s worth: traditional scooterists are the one’s who should be complaining - these modern scoots are much more motorbike than scooter, the only thing that puts me off is the reputation of the riders in my part of the world (southern France & northern Spain) and a lot more are nicked than even GSes around here.

As to the thread, lots of excellent photos - I’d never have the time or patience to post stuff as I’m going along. Personally, I can’t bear photos of peoples dinner, just get on and eat it.

Ayup Mark, the 350 is an absolute bargain for sure, half the price of the 750, for probably three quarters the same bike, plus double the inbuilt storage of the big ‘un. But for me the CVT makes it less desirable. The DCT is brilliant, in manual or auto,
and it sits comfortably at speeds the 350 can do, but not in such a relaxed way.
In my opinion, and it’s just my opinion before the harpies start up, the 350 is a scooter, the 750 is a bike, with some scooter qualities. Horses for courses at the end of the day.
They do hold their value too, I looked around for a late model on the used market but prices were too close to a new (with a bit of discount) one.
Older ones still fetch £7-£8k, I paid £10700 OTR. All new Hondas now have a six year warranty, al long as you have them serviced annually.

Thanks Chris, I honestly think both bikes make compelling cases.

I leave for a 4 month tour in Sept as a bike and kit test, then in May for my RTW.

I can see me changing to one of these…

Anyway, more pics please…. 🙏
