Can anyone recommend a nice Italian in or around Harrogate? We’re taking my mum for her 70th and would like a family meal in the evening

I know it isnt Harrogate but not many miles away is Bibis in Leeds which is or at least used to be fantastic

Thanks for the heads up Rick. We’d considered Leeds but having an age range from 8-80 we thought Harrogate might be a better option as it’s going to be on a Saturday night

Probably a wise move as Bibis can get a bit lively as Italians do

But it used to be superb

Edit

Just noticed that it is no longer on Greek street so may well be different

Flying Pizza in Roundhay Leeds used to be exceptional when I was a regular dining there (not when JS was in the house though 😉)

Casa Mia in Chapel Allerton, Leeds also used to be very good

A good friend, rates La Feria on Cold Bath Road

Pranzo Italian again on Cold Bath Road gets rave reviews too

Anywhere in Montpellier quarter and you can’t go wrong

Are the others not ‘proper’ Italian 🇮🇹 restaurants?
I hate chain pizza restaurants. Ideally Italians should run by Italians who make pizzas from real ingredients. More importantly if the OP wants to eat in Harrogate geography would be the first consideration perhaps?

The best I’ve had is Stephano’s in Silsden. Steph and Betta have retired now but new lad Craig I think is doing a very good job too. Steph and Betta do make guest appearances now and again.

We went to Prenzo and it was fine, nothing to write home about but the food was good, reasonably priced and we were well looked after. I wouldn’t go back but that’s because Harrogate has a lot to offer, so much so we’re booking a weekend away there.
