Absolutely stunningLiking the look of the new Himalayan being ridden by Itchy Boots in her latest series.
I thought it was a good video. The natural competition is the ktm 390 Adv and thats £5800 to £6k. The Triumph 400x is a pretty bike compared to these two focused models, so Im going for £5500/ £5600 and happy to be proved too salty. This is the latest promo from Royal Enfield. If they get this anywhere near the current models £5K price this will be an absolute bargain. Official launch 7th November.
Excellent from RE. Didn't realise it was a completely new bike ....thought it was just a re-bore but no, it's all newThis is the latest promo from Royal Enfield. If they get this anywhere near the current models £5K price this will be an absolute bargain. Official launch 7th November.
It is, be great if between them they can find the perfect "adventure" bike. About 150kg, capable of sitting at 75mph on a motorway, carry rider and luggage without stress, comfortable to be on, handle easy gravel roads. And look good. With the Triumph 400 and this new RE, this sector is looking really interesting.
The RE will be heavier (wet it will be around 200), but it will have a 21inch front wheel and spoked rims unlike the Triumph and KTM offerings. For 150kg you probably need to look more at the KTM690/Husq 701 bikes although Kove provides an interesting alternative. It is, be great if between them they can find the perfect "adventure" bike. 19inch front, cast wheels and still 200KG wet. Great bikes though !Or the cb500x
Erm, I believe approx 150kg about 52 bhp and 75 on motorway has been done, It's called the X Country, even have the choice of X Challenge for Rufty Tufty typesIt is, be great if between them they can find the perfect "adventure" bike. John BA good bike but a 20 year old design and the most recent one will be over 10 years old. I don't mind that, I have an XT600 which I really like but it is an old design.Erm, I believe approx 150kg about 52 bhp and 75 on motorway has been done, It's called the X Country, even have the choice of X Challenge for Rufty Tufty typesCheers

Must be honest, throughout her many adventures I’ve always been mightily impressed with her bravery, especially in this particular Himalayan episode..eeek.Just watched the itchy boots video. It looks like a good bike, the thing that i noticed was the quality of the video. It’s very good,
it may be a 20 year old design .... what I would give for a non canbus, no electronic ignition, basic bike that you can fix mostly on the side of the road, or at a rally site, do 80mph, and be light enough to pick up off floor when you drop it. Nowadays it almost pointless carrying tools, although Bowser and I have changed the final drive bearing and seal on a R1100GS resting it on a beer crate at a Belgian rally site!A good bike but a 20 year old design and the most recent one will be over 10 years old. An up to date version of the XC would be superb.
