With Questions regarding Authenticity , and Folks Asking for Valuations,
I think its about time we dragged the Airhead Section into the 21st Century .

I Nominate Mr Keith Stevenson as the Airhead Valuation , And Authenticity officer.
I also Nominate Trippy as his Under Secretary.
I Nominate Tarka , As Hairdresser to the two Boys ....

So i reckon i need this motion Seconded ...

I don't think Tarka or myself are anywhere near qualified enough to be considered to work along side the great one.
I have seen inside that barn and stood in awe at the sight of some of the wonders inside.
I look forward to more 'statements of fact' from the great one in 2014.

As an accountant i have a simple approach to valuations...

When I'm buying.
The bike is obviously worthless as nobody wants that particular model. :(
It was made in the wrong year and should have been the earlier or later model but definitely not that year.:(
Shame about the colour as that is the least popular.:(
The mileage is either far too high and it is completely shagged out or it is too low and it has never been ridden enough.:(
It's got far too much crap from Touratech bolted on to it which makes it too heavy.:(
Those non-standard brakes seriously devalue it.:(
If its 800cc then its grossly underpowered and everyone wants the 1000cc version.:(
If its 1000cc then everyone knows the 800 is the sweeter engine.:(
Any signs of it having been used mean it is about to fall to bits.:(
There is a spec of dirt on the engine sump guard so it obviously needs a full engine rebuild costing many thousands of pounds.:(
Those tyres? Death traps those ones, need replacing immediately at extra cost.:(
Its been owner by A TOSSER of this parish? Then we all know he rides his bikes to death and its completely worn out.:(
He's asking How Much for it! He bough it last year off ebay for half that!
I heard a rumour that he once filled it with cheap oil so its now worthless.:(
My mate has got one for sale that is twice as good for half the price.

But when I'm selling.
This is the ultra rare model that all collectors want.:)
Very rare and valuable colour scheme.
First/Last version of that model and therefore unquestionably the best to own.
Rust? Not that is patina and evidence that it is genuine and never been restored.
Many thousands spent on highly desirable extras that add significant value to it.
Very low mileage as its too good to ever take out to ride.
More miles than the space shuttle? That's because it is so good to ride and will go on forever. It is "barely run in":)
Once owned by someone very famous but I'm not at liberty to say who.
Has lots of little stickers to prove it has been to far away places.
Has most of the Touratech catalogue bolted to it which doubles its value.
A cast iron investment that can only double in value.
Similar ones for sale on interweb are priced at thousands more and they are in worse condition than this one.
Receipts for several thousand pounds spent with man in shed.
This one won't be around for long.
The bike is a credit to you.
You won't find a better one anywhere in the world.

There you go, Sid's simple guide to Airhead valuations. For a small fee, I'd be willing to provide written valuations for insurance purposes.:D
