I had a similar thing with an old R100 that had stood for a while. Couldn't bleed the front brake so took the caliper off and still couldn't pump fluid through!!! turned out to be the flexible pipes swelling up inside.

Has it still got the ATE brakes and under-tank master-cylinder?

When re-building my mate's 79 R80/7, bleeding the rebuilt brakes took ages. There was no alternative but spend, literally days, pumping the lever. Stick with it, eventually we got there.

Funnily enough, when everything was sorted and the bike running, one of the carbs started pissing fuel out too. Once the new seals had a chance to swell, it stopped.

I don't want to sound gloomy but we rebuilt the master-cylinder, new pistons and seals in the callipers, new bleed nipples and new braided hoses.

Still took days to bleed the buggers!

I have fitted new piston and seals bleed nipples seem ok and brake lines are the metal ones Sean

I have sorted the starter key so all lights turn off with key out got new float needles in the post front brake still not right but will get it sorted

Old trick was to remove calipers, Suspend them as high as possible ABOVE master Cylinder with a 2x brakepad+ disc sized wodge of wood in each caliper.
Air flows upwards and they bleed ok.
If it's being a right Bastard.
Leave it over night for air to travel up to the suspended calipers and then bleed.

IF for any chance the brake fluid flows back wards and tries to overflow from master cyl. just clingfilm neck and lightly screw top back on, remember to remove AFTER first attempt of bleeding the next morning

the bolts holding the calipers on are seized solid so I thing i will have to pump the brake a long time Sean

I have fixed the carb on my 100/7 the float neadal was missing so fitted new one just to test it. the starter has stopped working just go to fit other one on and front brake to sort and hope nothing stops working Sean
