Firstly wouldn't charge on the bike. Then wouldn't charge in the car. Now won't turn on at all, despite some charge left in battery at last turn off. Well out of warranty and used loads.

My question...

Is it worth trying to get it fixed or are these things essentially disposable on failure.

If fixable, where? Anyone had this situation?

Silly question perhaps, but have you tried removing the battery, cleaning the contacts, and then refitting?

Next step would be to borrow a battery and see if the unit functions and charges with that one.

If it does, then I would think buying a new battery would be a lot cheaper than junking the whole thing?

Otherwise, have you read THIS THREAD, which describes a problem with the charging contact points - sounds similar to yours?

You Sir, have pint in from me if and when we meet. There was a really tiny bit of corrosion on one of the pins on the bottom of the unit. Swabbed and polished, it's working a treat.

Many thanks
