98 1100. For the second time in less than a year on a new speedo drive(the part in the hub of the wheel)the metal drive "tangs" have worn a "ramp" in the Nylon(?) gear which causes loss of drive to the cable. You cannot buy just the gear of course so I'm trying some JB weld to see if I can build up the worn part and make it servicable again, I don't have high hopes for this fix. Calling on all magicians out there some better idea(s). A metal gear would be the best solution but I don't see that happening. Thanks mates.

Replace the metal "tang" ring as well as the speedo drive. It's just a ring that sits behind the wheel bearing seal, and wears with sharp edges that splay out.
Pop seal out, remove ring/tang, replace in reverse order.

Don't run the cable around tight bends and clip it loosely to spread movement stress.
