ITS HERE S1000XR

Didn't say. We were really talking about the sportmodel and how this compares with the s1000r. Much more expensive. My pal who was set on the xr then went out and bought an r. Too much difference in price to be worth it.

There trying to target the Multi type of owner and grab these sales, a multistrada owner would probably jump ship onto the Xr because its very similar, the same owner would not jump ship for the S-R, but saying that ! It all comes down to pricing and BMW could price this to expensive and kill sales, probably why they are limiting the no of bikes per dealer nxt year !

The retail price of the S-R is quite a bargain tbh and the Xr is very similar spec wise, so should be priced within a marginal increase, it ain't going to happen tho.

I've put my £100 holding deposit down, will need to test ride and see one in the flesh before I make my mind up! If it's shite I'll buy a LC gs or adventure maybe or s1000rr I just don't have a clue yet!

Alan Jefferies have 20 s1000xr's with deposits down!

if thats the case…..first ones are due in around late july august , so the deposit from person number 20 would prob see his bike arrive in november !

He was confident they will land by June and bmw will fulfil all pre orders, time will tell, announcement in February apparently.

Uk price confirmed today by BMW

Base S model: £13645
SE model: £14750

The new Suzuki GSX-S1000F looks a great alternative for the price if you dont ride two up. Around £10k , an insane engin from the K5, and bullet proof with cheap servicing.

Surely that Suzuki is competition for the S1000R, not the XR?

XR is a 4-cyl Multistrada equivelant.

Similar ball park, there are faired and unfaired versions of the suzuki....id consider it against the faired bmws personally as you could quite easily tour on it with ventura luggage.

that'll be about 17k with the akra, wunderlich n touratech then :D

My order: Sport SE in red, + red mudguard from rr - tinted screen - HP rearsets - HP levers - panniers, less my ££££ discount. :)

No bothering with the akro this time around, prefer the look of the stock ! Rad guards from the S1R should fit hopefully.

However my order is dependent on actually seeing the finished product in the flesh, i was not to impressed with the finish or plastics on the nec bikes.

just checking to see what sort of discount obtained on the XR?
is the nav 5 worth the expense considering the cradle is installed and ready to go

No discount, as it hasn't been launched yet. I'll wait until after launch, and a test ride, before making a decision on one. But only once I can get a discount.:D

If the Nav 5 integration is as good as on the GS/ GSA, it'll be well worth it.:thumb
