I'm considering doing the training in Wales, which I know is on their schools bikes, but it's only a day.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the courses at the place in Wales are two days long, I think.

Anyway, here's a red one floating :D I took all the air out of the tyres to make it lighter!

The Hechlingen Enduro park is situated between Nurnberg and Munich. You can do it on your own bike , and a couple of our group did . MiGSel used his R80GS and his brother in law used a brand new Yamaha XT660. As long as it's not a 2 stroker you can use your own bike. I used one of the BMW bikes - you can chose from the 650, 1150GSA or 1200GS. I took the 1150GSA with 1200km on the clock and did my best to break it without success.
There are 2 or 3 day courses. The 3 day with hore of an 1150GSA cost Euro 725 which may sound a lot but I reckon it was worth every penny. There are plenty of English speaking instructors available and normally the groups are split up by language and ability. We rented a holiday appartment about 12km from the park. It was in a sleepy little village but was dirt cheap and superbly cheap and comfortable. For Euro 25 per night for the first 2 people and Euro 8 for each additional person - sleeps up to 5 people. You can stay closer to the park but it was just a 15 minute drive in the morning to get there and by the end of each day you will be looking forward to a shower , cold beer and a good nights sleep . There is a hotel in Hechlingen but not much to do there and it costs about Euro 60 per night so we went for the cheaper option and had a great time .

By the end of the training we were kicking out the back ends of the bike and deliberately knocking over the bollards then power sliding away in the dust :D ...not something I would have tried at the beginning of the training for sure !!

I think that I'd want to use one of their bikes - I wouldn't like to damage mine if at all possible

- yet!

Yep
Wales is two days, unless you do the ride across Breckon Beacons which is one day 80 miles of fun (so I,m told:rolleyes: )

HTH.

I was there last fall and I think it was great fun. Nice to be able to trash about on someone elses bike... I will probably do it again sometime.
