Yer know what ... ?

I am very very happy with this bike :thumb2. Just little tweeks and changes here and there (well, not so little on the bloody bank account ..!) and it's just how I want it.
It's been completely 'Remus'd' and now it really breathes. It feels like the petrol is flowing through a mains high street water pipe now and not a drinking straw. It's been Hilltopped - the throttle is just a delight. I remember a particular mini roundabout today where I picked the gas up in third and it was just there instantly ! No hic, no splutter, no judder ... just a creamy smooth roll on.

It's been translogic'd ! what a hoot that is! No real practical help if I'm honest but throttle pinned, 3...4...5..6... Bloody hell! (and with the exhaust system ... it just sounds glorius!)

I phone wired in for Tom Tom's winding roads app that chats via bluetooth, Keis jackets that plug in, optimate .... screen ....

It's sorted, and a bloody good bike .... :thumb

Don't take the piss Trixie .....

I thought I was going to upgrade the pcp thing next year ....

Nope! I'm keeping this one .... :D

Nice bike Giles. Tempted by Remus headers too. Just have the pipe at present.

you mean where you failed to select the right gear to enter the corner - -as the IAMs might suggest?..:)

Very nice! I've got a Remus/Akra combination plus Hilltop and am interested in the Translogic as mine is too early for the BMW QS. Did you fit yourself or get a dealer to do it?

You like the quickshifter than :)

Have you played with the kill times or left it stock 10 flashes.

I got a dealer to do it. Having stood there and watched - It's not that difficult! But I wouldn't have done it myself. Took a couple of hours. He was very good - insisted on soldering and not crimping, heat shrunk what he'd done and generally did a really good job.

According to him this was a bit more of a faff than most jap bikes, (the soldering into the fuel injector wires) most bikes (he said) were completely plug and play. :thumb2

Aha!!!

No I've left is as standard .... Good bit of kit - thanks for the info by pm ... :thumb2

Damn you! Thought I had finished spending on the bike for this year, but now I'm seriously considering the Translogic!

Would you care to name that dealer who did such a good job?

Well ..... :D

I tried my local TL dealer, and they just didn't fill me with any confidence on the phone (scratching chin, deep intakes of breath ..), so I took a punt and phoned Paul Nash (picked his name out of a list of three or four in Essex). On the phone - 'Yep, should be no problem, done quite a few on other bikes but not a BM, but it should be fine .... '

I pitched up (today as it happens) and at first my heart sank! It was an industrial unit with cars and a horse box on the ramp, and not the 'eat yer dinner off the floor' bike dealer / workshop that I was expecting. But I was completely wrong. He really knew his onions, spanners for UK Yamaha abroad in MX competitions, has been trail riding nationally since he was a kid and did a really good job - undid some work and did it again (crimped stuff at first and then said it was shite so undid it all and soldered it .. ) and he absolutely gets my blessing.
In hindsight, I'd rather have somebody like him work on my bike, that say a BM dealer who reads a manual, 'fits a part' but is not a proper old school machanic.
Coincidentally, the unit two doors down from him machines some of the parts for translogic!! A complete coincidence.
He gets my absolute blessing!

Yep i tried all settings, experimenting, 10-stock or 11-flashed is perfect for the wc.

I was a little anal when i fitted mine, obviously i opted to find the wires for translogic because they had not done a wc and had no wiring diagram until i gave them the info, the wc canbus is very clever more advanced than my twin cam and wiring it in as per normal bikes ie cutting the spark as i did on my twin cam, sends the wc into limp mode.

The signal wires for the fuel is what you use. i made it look like it was part of the loom, when the bike went back to BMW the engineer whom inspected the bike (regarding the faulty steering) was impressed with the shifter.

Yes - matey-boy soldered into the fuel injection 'wire' :D (to be honest I wouldn't have even understood the instructions .... there's no way I'd have had the confidence to cut wires myself .... !!)

Nice one, Giles.:thumb But the BMW system works on downshifts as well.:JB Is that a WOMAN in overalls working on your bike? I'd not be happy with that!:D

I rode through Luxembourg (capital) today, and the noise my bike was making with the full system and QS got a lot of attention. Not enough to stop me nearly running a jogger over!

Yeah yeah yeah .....

The girl was matey boy's daughter. She's a national trials rider, and qualified bike mechanic. She was helping her Dad fit it and was very competent !!!! (I was quite taken back ..!)

Yes - I guess there's fun to be had down the box with the BM kit, but I can live quite happily with just just up !

(now update the feckin' sat nav thread ..... :rob) :D
