It's time to Bagger off to Porto

Three of us on the ferry to Santander tomorrow, got a week, two days to Porto, a day off the bike (that's a first) then a meander back to the ferry.

The bay looks calm and decent weather ahead, first three hotels booked then we'll make it up.

I'll post the usual drivel as we go.

On your day in Porto, if you like port go to Avenida de Diogo leite.
Lots of port outlets .
At one of them I got wrecked. 5 glasses of port for 5 euros. My partner didn’t like the first one so I had to drink them all.

Thanks for posting that. Just looking at a long weekend in Porto in January with the Missus. A visit to Balhao market to eat Leitao and drink a bit of Port.

I did Porto a few years ago. This was the best cellar tour, very close to the big steel bridgey thing on the Gaia side

What with it being bank holiday there was no way we could sit about all day. I left mine just after 12 to go to Brentwood to pick up Paul on his new to him f800 gs. He had a nice Gold Wing but let me down on the bagger front. To kill off the afternoon we've meandered south of Westerham (very nice) down to Lewes and then west to the historic part of Portsmouth.

Fixed up some fish and chips with acoutrements. Dropped a pin to Pete who met us here. Now we're killing time for an hour or so.

We got bored kicking about so went to the port, there were already a load of bikes checked in, we were two from pole at the booth very simple and in pretty short time parked on board and in the cabin. In the bar by 9pm. Can't find my snore guard - sorry boys. Pretty pissed off about it as I wear it for a better sleep for me. No sign of it at home apparently. Maybe it'll turn up.

Spot on. It was nice to see crew mates off a ship socialising outside the pub men and women chilling, looked like fun. I was earwigging a bit, they were Navy.

Decent kip, gentle rolling of the ferry accompanied by a steady flow (or more like a feeble trickle) of visitors to the heads, bathing me in a yellow floodlight each time.

It's all very smooth, found a warm corner for some TalkSport until the others appear for breakfast.
