It's time to Bagger off to Porto

A decent crossing very flat calm last night. We had a table in the fancy restaurant by the window. Saw tuna jumping out of the water.

Halibut for dinner.

Disembarkation took 45 mins from docking to completing self scan at port. Pretty good really, boat wasn't full though.

There are two Brazilian guys here one of them has completed 100k miles around the world on this Harley

IMG_0925.jpeg
His mate bought an NT in Portugal as it's easier than freighting and he'll sell it when he's done. They just arrived from Finland as they had been turned away from the Russian border.

Harley dude has been at it for 9 years. Africa next but probably on a Tenere 700 this bus will get freighted back to Brazil. He said it has never broken down 🤷

View from balcony and the hotel pool which was lovely to be in after a hot day.

Today's ride is to Porto, hotter than original forecasts so I'm keen to get going after brekkie.

Hotel Estalagem Tourismo, Bragança. Decent breakfast spread. Restaurant is cheap, seafood tagliatelle was the best choice. Wine cheap. Half bottle €6.50

Phew what a scorcher. Saw 39.5 today.

I'll do an update later, aside from cooking myself it's been really good and the roads might have been better than yesterday

This road is highly recommend. There was more visibility across the bends than yesterday, it's about 2 hours of bends and sweepers.

Here are some views, they don't do the scale any justice

I am fortunate to have ridden these roads. A great write up, thanks. Northern Portugal is much underrated, and beautiful...most Brits head South to the Algarve, but the area you are in is more interesting.

Got a recommendation from the receptionist for authentic Portuguese. I had octopus to start and monkfish with rice, all tasted very fresh and another reasonably priced meal.

Harry Monk was on the door.

asturias and galicia into northern portugal is just excellent

been 10 years ffs

must go back

Back into the air con comfort of the room, a muggy 29 out there under cloud. Done a lot of walking, two cable cars and a boat trip.

Picked a logical route through the popular sites. It's very hilly for a city, spent most of the day sweating. It's really lovely though. The Bolhao market has to be a highlight. Booze, fish, fruit, veg, people browsing the stalls with a cold glass of wine in the afternoon well worth a visit.
