Jailbreaking os4

Jailbreaking any of the iPhones just allows you to install 3rd party apps on the phone , which it turn allows you to install sim-lock software (which breaks sim locks )

so in the case of OS4, I installed it the other week on my wifes phone, I used redsn0w to Jailbreak it, and then installed ultrasn0w to break the simlock.

The only thing I would mention is that OS4 has the multitasking option, if you are installing on a 3G.. disable the multitasking.. it will eat your battery.

:)

multitasking is not available on the 3G, even with iOS4 installed.

for battery problems, try disabling Spotlight search.

sorry to disappoint there cookie

but multitasking can be enabled for 3G and older 2G phones...

just google it...

Redsn0w has the option during setup. to disable.. this stops the extra modules in the kernel being loaded..

my mistake. i somehow forgot we were talking about jailbrake for a minute :blast

apparently so.. :)

getting back to the point

after jailbreaking and installing 3rd party apps how does this affect the normal running of the phone and the apple apps ( can normal apps still be downloaded and installed , can it still be connected to itunes for music ? . Btw the battery life is unaffected after the upgrade and multitasking at least for the simple things like accessing something in the phone seems a fairly standard need , ie looking up contact info, notes, or mails while on the phone
