‘Hostage’ is available now on BBC iPlayer, though many here might well not watch it as they “Don’t do BBC, mate”.

Watched episode 1, 2 & 3 to watch tomorrow.
I’ve read Loyd’s first book and just grabbed his second from the shelf, Another Bloody Love Letter, to start also tomorrow

Downloading the BBC programme, haven’t found the podcast yet.

Yes my assessment would be he’s gone.

Would’ve heard by now.

Deffo seemed to fly close to the sun old Sonic.

For anyone interested in the craft and extreme risks of journalism in wartime, I can recommend "In Extremis". Its the biography of Marie Colvin, written by her peer Lindsey Hilsum of Channel 4. She was (one of many) journos killed in Syria during the civil war there. As an aside, there's an annual memorial service for her and all the others at St Bride's church , Fleet Street.

That's sad. Carpet bombing by whom?

Anyone and everyone that wanted to see ISIS and its affiliates wiped from the face of the Earth. Carpet bombing, which implies massed B52’s, is not necessarily an accurate description. Air and ground based ordinance strikes, might well be more apt.

Watch the three programmes or listen to the podcasts. It’s what the thread is all about. It’s not hard, really.
I can't be arsed, because there is no definite proof one way or the other, the TV stuff is for entertainment only.
