JohnGS1100 Tuning Chip

Thanks to Robh1664, Nin and Howz.

I will send the chips tomorrow will arrive to UK after 1 week.

Best Regards from Greece.

Thanks Alan.

I made perfect stage 7-8-9 and 10 for any situation and for any hardware setup.

I think it is finish my work on BMW boxers bikes.

More torque at all revs of rpms without any problem, little richer fuel, smooth function of engine, and more power and final speed at top end.

For full stock bike, for de-cat system aftermarket exhaust for free air filter and for any hardware mods (camshafts, comsprockets and any more).

Thanks to UKGser forum, to all users for helping. :)

King Regards from Greece :)

I can send to any UKGser member chip for free cost., just send me a pm fulll name-address-bike details.

Many thanks.

Thank you for all your work John, what will you do next! I might have to buy another bike.

Since it is your last one I would like to try it please.

I have tried 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9.

Kind Regards,
Pablo Michelin

Chips were sent today to Andrew McGill, John Gowers, Graham Shields and Pablo Michelin.

Will arrive to UK after 1 week, to Australia after 2 weeks.

Thanks :)

Edit : Pablo, my next hard work will be on old car's '1990-2003'. Chip for ECU for BMW, Group VW, Peugeot, Citroen and more else.

I will work all the winter on this project.
I work alone, i hope to win. :thumb2

Thanks for your contribution over the years John, many of us are eternally grateful. Good luck with your new project.

If its of any interest, there is a large global market in tuning for the TD5 land rover engine (defender and discovery, 1998 to 2004). The ECUs are easily modified and the fuel maps reasonably simple. I have a load of remap files from various professional tuners for this engine and would be happy to share them with you.

Cheers
Gordon

I was told my R1100RT had the GS pipes fitted and a chip change - the same as for "SouthernDespatchCourier", so I was wondering if these chips are still available ?

Hi Roger. It is hard to me to connect by comuter on the bike, i see live the AFR and i made the chip by this way.

As i told, by stable throttle the AFR is always 14,7:1 but on acceleration (when i make richer maps) the AFR is richer for all situations, (open-close loop, sea level, mountains..). So the additional value in to injection maps works fine.
Does not matter the stable throttles, because it is only for a very little time, the AFR is always richer by injection maps.

I made maps for any hardware mods, K/N, de-cat system exhaust, mod cams, sprockets and any other.

The friends who try the versions of chip (stage 7,8,9) can tell about rich or lean fuell.

It's not really very hard to ride with a computer, just takes a bungee cord!

Two things to point out, by measurement we know that 50-80% of riding is Closed Loop so the closed loop AFR matters A LOT. The only way to improve that AFR is by lambda-shifting. You need to try that to know. The other thing is even the stock chip richens the mixture a lot when you move the throttle.

I think if you did some riding AFR logs of your chips you would see that AFR isn't so different. If you used the GS-911 you might find the timing is your chip's main benefit.

Good luck with your new project.

Stage 8 chip

Finally got round to fitting stage 8 chip to 2003 R1150GS in April. Bike has standard pipes and cat with no engine mods. since then I have ridden several thousand miles in UK and Europe with most of the riding at motorway speeds. For the first time in 12 years I am getting constant upper 40 to mid 50mpg on urban and motorway/fast A roads. Slight flat spot/bogging down at 3000 rpm in 6th gear (probably due to my riding style more than anything else) and definitely more power mid to top end of range. Final comparison will be on trip to highlands in November fully loaded up - done this trip many times over the years and know exactly what previous fuel consumption was. So overall, up to now very happy with Stage 8 modification.
Thanks John and best wishes for the future.:thumb2

Mine should be arriving over the next few days. Cant wait to fit it. Question, do you have to re silicone the ecu once after you have split it?

You may be lucky and the seal remains in place and in one piece. In this case, you could just smear some silicone around the existing seal to get a good fix. Make sure you use a neutral cure silicone NOT an acid cure silicone (acid cure smells similar to vinegar). I don't think you need an electronics grade sealant though others on the forum might have other thoughts.

Look What Arrived Today

Thank you John, and all the very best of luck with your next and future projects.

Top man :clap
