I have a 650 sertao which I haven't started for about a month and when I tried it wouldn't start.
I tried to jump start it off my 1200 and it turned over for a bit then went off and now there is nothing on the 650 it's as dead as a dodo.
Could I have damaged the 1200 trying to jump the 650 or should it be ok?

I used jump leads which I attached to the battery on the 1200 and the posts under the seat on the 650.
As pissed off I am that the 650 won't run and has only ever done 1000 miles Im more worried about my adventure.

So will it be ok?

I wouldn't worry to much about it so. I would check out the jump leads. Jjh

If there was a bit of ommph in the battery and now its completely dead, ie no lights etc you may have blown a fuse whilst connecting the leads.

Did you use the jump start connections on the Sertao or go direct to the battery?

Best thing to do is put a volt meter on it to see if there is any life at all in the battery, if there is you should still get idiot lights etc but maybe not enough power to turn it over, if you have nothing at all check the fuse.

Just re-read you post looks like you did use the connections rather than direct to the battery.

I would say its unlikely that any damage has been done to the 1200. I am in asimilar position to yourself GSA and Sertao, the GAS stay on charge when parked but the Sertao does not. due to work it gets left for a month but still starts no problem when required. But i did have the hot start issue.
