Well, old thread, But just thought I'd note that I spend 9 hours in A+E yesterday, after my steed spat me off up the road. Doing around 30 up a hill on wet A road, got some splutter and loss of power - never happened before, 1/2 down a tank of fuel. Changed down to try to get some revs in to keep moving and pull into a car-park. Next instant had been high-sided onto the wrong side of the road and smacked the tarmac like a ton of chunk steak. Bike was on RHS and still running. Was a bike following me who pointed out the skid mark, the back wheel having locked solid. Bike was recovered by some kind passer by gardeners with a mower trailer on the back to a road near my house. Mate rode it back the 200m to my drive this arvo and it's running fine. Totally horrendous experience, no warning, very lucky to be alive. Hurts like (*&&^%$(@£^)!
